WHAT IS AN ADU?

An ADU, or Accessory Dwelling Unit, is a secondary housing unit on a single-family residential lot. ADU's are an innovative and affordable way to add additional living space to a property and can provide excellent private accommodations for adult children, parents, or guests. They can also offer a separate workspace and home office for those that find themselves working from home or they can be used to provide additional income to homeowners as rental units.

Homestead at Hog Mountain offers completed ADU's as an upgrade option to our Cottage, Vista, and Village homes with separate, two-story garage plans. The ADU plans standardly come unfinished, but upon completion they offer a studio style bedroom area, a kitchen with island, and a full bath. Different elevation features complement our Farmhouse, Low Country and Southern Classic designs.

To help guide the development of Homestead at Hog Mountain toward the special place that it will be, a Pattern Book has been crafted as a reference for Owners, Designers, and Builders to illustrate the types of design styles, elements, and principals upon which Homestead was founded.
